Kevin De Bruyne signs two-year contract extension with Man City

Kevin De Bruyne has signed a two-year contract extension with Manchester City after his superlative performance in the 2-1 over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of Champions League quater-final at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Belgium international, whose existing deal was due to expire in 2023, is 30 in June and now looks set to see out most of the remainder of his career with the current Premier League leaders.

De Bruyne has had a glittering spell since joining the club from Wolfsburg in 2015, winning seven major trophies, which could become 11 by the end of the season if Manchester City is successful in their hunt for a quadruple.

The former Chelsea star has 77 assists from his 176 Premier League appearances and equalled former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry’s record for most in a season when he claimed 20 in the 2019-20 campaign.
