General Overseer of House of Prayer Ministries, Pastor Segun Adewunmi, commences rare exposition on your dream world and how the Devil exploits it to afflict your life. Excerpts:
I have earlier told you of three types of dreams, namely, natural dreams, inspired dreams and demonic dreams. Natural dreams are the reflection of our mind at sleep. It has no consequence in the future life of the dreamer. For example, if one is hungry at the point of sleep, such a one may see himself eating during sleep. It is the influence of the mind over the spirit that usually causes the fantasy. Another example is, if a man desires a woman but has no physical access to the woman, the man could have a dream of intimacy with the woman. Natural dream therefore, is just a reflection of what we desire or the reflection of what happened to us in the real life being staged at sleep. The eye-lid blinks continually when we are in natural dream. The dreamer also moves around because Natural dream occurs when we are half asleep. It is common when we have malaria, a sickness that disturbs deep sleep.
Inspired dream is a Revelation dream that tells of what is happening or about to happen to the dreamer. Bible personalities, starting from Abraham, Pharaoh, Joseph to Nebuchadnezzar and even Apostle Paul; they all had inspired dreams that came to pass in their lives. The wife of Pontius Pilate was specifically warned about what her husband was about to do to the Lord Jesus. We often find ourselves in a situation that we seem to have been before. Yes, we were in such a situation in our previous dream. A spirit-filled believer will quickly know what to do in line with the revelation dream he had. For example, I often got angry and would have done a particular thing from my anger but a flash of remembrance would suddenly come into my thought to warn me of my intended action which is actually a reflection of one of my previous dreams where such anger led into a chaotic situation. I immediately refrained from the anger and let the situations to remain as they were. Our focus today is about Demonic Dream. It is a dream that tells us how demonic forces destroy lives of people through the sowing of tears.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” (Mathew 13:25)
They sow problems into the lives of their victims at sleep and this reflects in the victims’ real lives. God gives us specific destiny but Satan is allowed to test us to determine whether we actually merit our God-given destiny by the reason of our personality, dedication and loyalty.
A believer, who is steadfast and committed, casting all his burden on the Lord, is helped out of the Satanic test, his justification is in the manner of Isaiah 54:17b and Romans 8:28-30. “This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17b)
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” (Romans 8:28-30).
Most demonic attacks happen in demonic dreams. Demonic dream itself is based on the word of God in Matt 18:18.
“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matt 18:18) Dream is the most common spiritual experience. Our Biblical role models started their spiritual experience from their dreams.
Our first example is Abraham who met the Lord God in his dream. Similarly, attacks on children of God through Satan also started from dream. We shall now commence the analysis of demonic attacks through dreams.
There are three ways by which demonic people including Witches and Wizards, and those in Occult commence attack of their victims. What the victims experience are Police arrest, attack by Robbers or attack by Masquerades.
Police Arrest: Police in our dreams are Witches. Every human kind had some measure of spiritual immunity. Spiritual attack is not possible until the immunity is removed. Witches cannot remove immunity of people unless they can identify a legitimate cause upon which such a one is accused and judged and therefore becomes vulnerable to attack. We have watched films of how witches take cases to their congregation which is called a coven. A coven is the assembly of witches usually with a membership of between five to thirteen members. These assemblies are also in various categories but usually the two most senior members of an assembly belong as ordinary members in the senior assembly.
After a member has reported a case, usually of a person or persons to be attacked, to the assembly, some witches are assigned to arrest the personalities reported and bring them to the assembly. Witches on this assignment reflect in our dreams as police. This means, most times when one is arrested by Police personnel in his dream; it is indeed the attempt of witches to reduce such a one to become a spiritual slave. Spiritual slaves are people in bondages of witches, wizards and occult people. Such people can no longer live their real lives but live at the pleasure of others. They have lost their destiny so that what works normally for people will not work for them. They are burdened with ill-luck and spirit of dishonour. Life is difficult for spiritual slaves. They are neglected, abhorred, excluded, sidelined, underrated and are always opposed. Usually, God’s people with special earthly assignment to change the world are targets of the evil people and must experience spiritual attack.
