The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG), has urged   appropriate agencies including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the Department of Petroleum Resources, (DPR), Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, (PPMC) and the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, (PPPRA) to take the necessary steps to  stop the persistent fuel scarcity in the country.

NUPENG, in a release, condemned the nonchalant approach of government in addressing the shortage and called for an appropriate strategy to end the scarcity.

“NUPENG is saying that Nigerians should not be allowed to suffer and pay more for petroleum products because the appropriate agencies and government are not proactive enough. The union stresses that the persistent fuel scarcity must not be allowed to go into the Sallah and Christmas festive periods, as hoarding may become the order of the day”, it stated.
