Pep Guardiola has signed a new Manchester City deal as he eyes Lionel Messi’s reunion in the January transfer window.

The 49-year-old Spanish coach existing deal only had seven months left to run on his current contract at Etihad Stadium and persistent speculation over his next move which has threatened to overshadow City’s season.

Guardiola has been linked with a return to Nou Camp next summer but the former Barcelona manager end the notion by penning a two new years deal to remain with the dethroned Premier League Champions.

HE’S STAYING! 🙌

They also continue to be linked with a summer move for Lionel Messi, with his contract at Barcelona due to expire next summer.

Up next for the Citizens is a trip to London to face Jose Mourinho’s blazing Tottenham Hotspurs.
