Makon unveils new logo, gets ISO certification
Oil and Gas infrastructure development company, The Makon Group, has unveiled a new logo following its recent ISO 9001:2008 certification by renowned international inspection and audit service company Bureau Veritas. Speaking at the certificate presentation cum new logo launch event in Lagos, the Bureau Veritas representative Mrs. Adenike Akinbote revealed that the ISO certification being awarded The Makon Group was based entirely on objective evidence.
She declared, “It was not an easy journey as we had to ensure that international policy standards were duely met, we were quite impressed particularly with the staff, and even at that we had to get clarification from our international office before our final approval.” By this development, the international company which provides strong technological support for the west and central African regional operations of the oil and gas sector is set to take business to another level. Commending the effort of the entire team, the company chairman, Mr. Lanre Fadayomi attests that the process was arduous, but also gratifying owing to the fact that world class partners are willing to go along with the company. He affirmed that the success story of the Makon Group “ is a classic example of how a small Nigerian company has grown into a big international company” while he called for more support to help the company actualise the promising growth pattern expected.
In his response the Group Managing Director, Mr. Oluseyi Makinde explained the need for the new logo which he said was based on the company’s world affiliation. He said “Whatever we have achieved now, we can do better, and we will do better. We hope to partner with the government on the challenge of infrastructure and capacity building because government can not do it alone”. Makinde described the ISO certification as an important tool that would enable the Makon Group achieve its set objectives. “ We would continue to get better and will definitely improve our processes” he said. The Nigerian affiliate of the Makon Group, Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited had obtained its ISO 9001 certification in July2000 and had hitherto adhered to requirements set out by the International Standard Organisation - NIS ISO 9001: 1994- prior to its current ISO 9001:2008 certification.
